I joined a cool group for artists with epilepsy

Epilepsy Awareness

I've had petite mals from early childhood and Grand Mal seizures since I was 16, 10 days after my Mother commits suicide. They said they were psychosomatic, {just in my head} lol

I had seizures till I was 26, got pregnant, had baby, had seizures that day, STOPPED having seizures for almost 16 years, 2 weeks short of 16 years, started having them again, very badly!

No one knows why, must have just been in my head! lol

That's been for six or seven years now, in between I lost 260 pounds, rolled my car, broke my neck and had to wear a halo!
Needless to say the head trauma has NOT helped my seizures!

I am no longer able to drive, both fear and not having a seizure for longer then six months prevent me.

I honestly think my seizures have a lot to do with my manic need to be creative.

My first neurologist told me 90% of her seizure patience are creative.

The worse my seizures get the more art I'm doing!

I guess somethings happen for a reason.
I'm just grateful to be alive and able to do my art.

:glomp: Hang in there, lady!

Oh, and you can't use stamps because you're not a subscriber. They don't let you use thumbnails or anything if you aren't.

English does not borrow from other languages. English follows other languages into dark alleys, knocks them over, and rifles through their pockets for loose vocabulary.

My father had petite mal and my brother had epileptic seizures they believed were caused by alcohol. Amazing how many medical problems are thought to be in the head when the cause hasn't been found - had a few myself but operations generally fixed them :) I also have multiple medical problems but as you do, I prefer to have a positive attitude. My accident caused me to become interested in computer graphics, so my pain hasn't been wasted. :)

I hear ya!! You must put the pain to work, it does have its own influence!! Don't waste the pain!
I'm so glad you didnt give up, your work is fantastic!!
Thank you so very much for sharing!
